Conservation

Eastern Tire is pleased to let our customers & community know that we’ve gone solar! For years we have been conscience of our industry’s impact on the environment. We have heated our work bays for years with waste oil we generate on site, installed energy efficient lighting, and now our electric power needs are generated from the sun.

Doing Our Part

In December 2022 our second solar array came online and we now produce enough electricity for our facility and all of our employees. We welcome your questions, maybe it’s something we can help you do for your own electric needs.

We are committed to playing an active role in our community. Here are some of the organizations we support and participate in:

Georges River Land Trust

The Georges River Land Trust’s mission is to conserve and steward the natural resources and traditional character of the Georges River watershed region for the public benefit.

Mid-coast Maine’s 225-square-mile Georges River watershed is a unique and historic area of mountains, sea coast, lakes, tidal streams and inlets through which the beautiful St. George River flows. The watershed extends from Montville in Waldo County to Port Clyde in Knox County where the 51-mile-long river flows into Muscongus Bay.

Cars for Conservation Vehicle Donation Program steps: call, drop off at Eastern Tire, appraisal and sale, tax receipt, funds to George’s River Land Trust.
